Growing up his father played in the NBA so he was always surrounded by basketball. During his sophomore year in high school he was 5'6 and 125lbs. During junior year of high school he felt like he was on top of the world and he was going to get offers from a bunch of division 1 schools that he dreamed of, but those schools never called. They always said he was too small to play the next level and he didn't have what it takes to make an impact. He used all that towards his motivation and he kept working on his game trying to get better everyday. Even big division 1 coaches never really heard of him because of his height.

Finally he got recruited by a small liberal arts school, Davidson College. His first game he had 9 turnovers in the first half and they were down by 18. The coach was questioning taking him out of the starting lineup, they end up winning that game and the next night against Michigan he dropped 32 points. Steph grew to 6'3 by his sophomore year in college. March 21st, 2008 during the NCAA tournament, Steph scores 40 against Gonzaga and two days later he dropped 30 on Georgetown. He averaged 32 during his run to the elite 8 and this is when his name became known and he started signing autographs. Junior year comes and he leads the nation in scoring averaging 29 points a game and he decides to declare for the NBA draft in 2009.

First season in the NBA he gets injured and he has to have two surgeries done on his ankles. He returns in 2012 after 6 months of rehab and sets a new single season NBA 3-point record and signed a 4 year-44 million dollar contract and leads the warriors to the playoffs in a first round upset against the Denver Nuggets. He was voted a starter at his first all-star game which took place during the 2013-2014 season. Then, he won MVP during the 2014-2015 season.
